I am like 2 years late but who cares!

I really love GLOG classes, and the community in the GLOG Discord is so creative, it needs to be archived somewhere! Here’s a compilation of all the 142 classes that have been published on it in 2023! The Types—Specialist (S), Wizard (W) and Fighter (F)—have been arbitrarily given by me after reading each class.

Like last year, I noted 10 who particularly inspired me and that I will probably steal from:

• Blatella’s SPECTER. A mall goth’s edgy fantasy. This class is so funny as a concept, but also gameplay-wise. Every ability is so flavourful and makes me want to play it.
• Deus Ex Parabola’s DEMIGOD. I think it’s pretty challenging to make a demigod class seem fair, and this really achieves that. Plus it is modular in a way that feeds into the world’s mythology.
• J.N.Sinombre’s WARLOCK. To be honest, J.N. made many great classes this year (shoutout to the Revolutionary and the Rabid druid), but I just love warlocks. This warlock design really understand the idea of making a pact for immediate power and living with constant fear of payback.
• Keyorden’s SCAPEGOAT. This seems to be the only post on their blog, but I am fascinated with the design of a class that relies on failing. It would totally change the way you interact with the game, and that is the sign of a good class.
• Lexi’s SAPPER. As someone who loves drawing dungeon maps, this class is for me. It also makes me excited to see how a sapper could break the game by changing the environment.
• Loch’s ALIENIST. Another one where it was hard to choose (shoutout to the Ploutocrat and the Mystic). The Delta class trend where each class ability requires accomplishing something is perfect flavour for a scientist’s maddening research.
• Mavell Duceau’s BABY YAGA. Be a witch’s hut! So fun, and perfect for a player duo.
• Morgan’s MONSTER BLOOD. It uses the Delta class format to allow players to gain powers from monsters they defeat. It makes me want to design more templates for each dungeon my players go through.
• The First Gokun’s URBANIST I think exploring the design space outside of combat abilities is pretty cool, and this class reaaly encourages interacting with the world. In this case, the architectural styles of a mega city.
• Vivanter’s COUNSELOR. Another non-violent class, and a very elegant one. I always feel like there’s a curious, more quiet player at my table who would love that, and as a DM, I just WANT them to ask me the questions about my world.
